Linda Smith

Linda Smith has been involved in Florida’s cattle industry for over 30 years alongside her husband, Dan Smith, a sixth-generation Florida cattle rancher. Together, they operate Bar Crescent D Ranch, a family-run commercial cow/calf operation and purebred Brahman herd in Hardee County.

Born and raised in Polk County, Linda’s first memories of cattle trace back to her great-grandfather, Charlie Stephens, and his purebred Brahman herd—a breed that has remained her favorite to this day. Faith and a love for God are at the foundation of her life, and she credits the strong values instilled in her by both her loving parents and the amazing family she became a part of, shaping her deep appreciation for hard work and the importance of preserving family heritage.

For the past six years, Linda has served as the ranch secretary and bookkeeper, playing an active role in the day-to-day operations of the ranch. She has been a member of the Hardee County Cattlewomen since 2019 and has served as president for the past two years, where she has focused on outreach, education, and promoting the benefits of beef.

Linda and her husband, Dan, are proud parents of three children—Danielle Burns (Dalton), Larrett Smith (Kendall), and Emery Smith (fiancée Beth Fussell)—and grandparents to Dallie, Willah, and Waylon. Known lovingly as “MooMoo” to her grandchildren, Linda treasures time with family while continuing to share her passion for agriculture and the ranching way of life.
